Advanced Level Biology Field Study Course (2011-2012)
Notice for teachers

1. If number of students changed, inform Ho Koon & TKTORC as soon as possible.

2. Download and photocopy the relevant handout beforehand.

3. Make sure that students have gone through the handout and have enough background knowledge.

4. Student should have adequate and correct psychological preparation.

5. Bring mosquito repellent (organic spray type not recommended).

6. Students may bring their own notebook computers for presentation purpose and digital camera. Ho Koon only provided computers installed with Macintosh softwares.

7. Students should prepare proper clothing. Trousers, canvas shoes with adequate tread, rain coat. Slippers and shorts are not recommended
for field work.

8. Teacher should accompany students at all time during the course.

9. For 2-day or 3-day courses, all participants must arrive TKTORC at or before 9:00am (8:15 am at Tsuen Wan MTR), and arrive Ho Koon at or before 9:30am. For 1-day course, participants should arrive at or before 9:00am.

10. Transportation to Ho Koon and away from Ho Koon should be arranged by participants.

11. Transportation fee for going to field site is shared by participating students. Prices listed below:

Stream : $700 (with air-conditioning)
Mangrove :$1100 (with air-conditioning)
Seashore : $1100 (with air-conditioning)
Woodland : $700 (with air-conditioning)
Scrubland : Free
Grassland : Free
Lichen : $1000 (with air-conditioning)

12. There is no restaurant near Ho Koon, 1-day course participants should bring packed lunch or order lunch boxes. Download the lunch order form and fax it back to the lunch box supplier.

13. Remind students to complete and sign the temperature record sheet as usual and their school teachers are responsible for inspection.
